In Northern Colorado it is normal for people to need multiple glasses for different situations. A one pair of glasses approach just doesn’t work for most people. For example: you may need different pairs of glasses for a specific activity, such as computer use, work,a hobby or driving. Whether you spend a lot of time in front of a computer for work or fun you are probably already familiar with the strain and eye fatigue that can occur with extended sessions of screen exposure. Today we have the option of “Computer glasses” that have lenses which are specifically designed to maximize your vision at the intermediate and close-up distances you most often use during computer work and screen time. Computer-specific eyeglasses will, most of the time, give you the best vision correction for both of these distances and help cut down on eyestrain making these activities more enjoyable and less stressful on your body.
Reading and Hobbies
If you live in Loveland, Fort Collins or Greeley and regularly wear bifocals, you may have found that you have to angle your head back slightly to use the reading portion of the glasses lens. While that’s fine for temporary reading situations, if you want to sit for an extended period of time and read a book, this head-tilted-back position can (and most often will) cause neck discomfort, strain and fatigue. An easy fix to this problem is a pair of single vision reading glasses. Driving Glasses
In Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley, there are 2 different types of driving glasses: sunglasses designed specifically for driving and clear prescription driving glasses. Most sunglasses made specifically for driving feature polarized lenses to cut down on glare. Some of these lenses have special tints to increase contrast for a safer, more pleasant visual experience while driving on sunny days. Eyeglasses which are intended for night driving should include your distance prescription as well as an anti-reflective (AR) coating to reduce the glare from streetlights and oncoming headlights to allow more light to reach your eyes for better vision on dark roadways.
